Muddy Dog: The Model — Part III

For the last installment of our three part serial the best has been saved for last!  She may have been a muddy mess but even models get covered in mud for photo shoots sometimes, right?

And now a word from our model, Gwen:  Hi everyone!  Guess what my hoomans decided to let me have!  My very own Facebook page!!!   You can “like” on Facebook since I already know that you like me here. 😉  If you look off to the right side on the column of goodies (you might have to scroll up a little) you will see the spot where if you click it will take you to my new Facebook Page At the moment the page is still very new and my humans will help me to make it look pretty and help me type (my chubby paws sometimes get in the way!) so you can have more updates of all my Corg-tastic adventures I have!

Muddy Dog: Tricks — Part II

I am so trixie!  Momma shulda named me Trixie!  Momma wrote my last bloggy post but had tooooo many pictures for just one bloggy so she decided to makes it into tree!

My momma and daddy hoomans both worked today so they left me in kitchen jail.  I was mad so I peed in my bed in the kitchen.  They said I should’ve been able to hold it.  I don’t think so.

Hi-5! (“shake”)

This is what I look like when I take cookies and shake at the same time!

BANG! …my favorite trick!

Stooopid camera was being blurry!

Momma hooman had some interesting experiences at worky today.  She told us these stories when she got home.  I’ll tell them in momma hooman voice:

I almost cried today when I had to box up and sell a feeder rat!  I got the rat out of the cage and put it in the box.  The people didn’t even care which it was, meaning that I had to pick.  When it looked at me it almost made me cry because it looked so sad!  I looked like it knew that it was going to be eatten!!! 😦

I saw a corgi today!  A Pem!  His name was Max.  I talked to his owner about corgis for a little bit and she asked about mine.

The momma says she is getting more used to the cash register thingy and it is getting easier.  There are times when she has problems but not quite as much.  Most is stuff that she hasn’t done.  Like accepting checks.  She is glad that there is hope for her yet!  She isn’t as scared of the customers anymore, just the telephone.  She doesn’t like the telephone.  Or paging people, but she is getting better at that since she has to do it lots — lots of people wanting to buy things means she needs back up.  I heard all about that too.  There were lots of people at her work today because it was another adoption day!

We are just going to cuddle now.  And watch Cinderella on the TV.  I like cuddling with the hoomans.  Especially on my sofa.  I let them sit on it sometimes.  They like to wrap me up like a burrito to stay warm.  Both hoomans are tired though I don’t know what from,  not like they did anything today.

Muddy Dog — Part I

Guess where we went today!  The doggie park!  We tried to go in the morning but it apparently did not open until noon so we went home and came back later.  It’s like a 15-20 min drive too.  Gwennie had fun and is worn out!  She got so muddy but I have good intentions to get her to the groomer this week (once I know when I’m working) so she can get a good bath and brushing!  It will be much easier to just show you some pictures. 🙂

LEAPING out of frame to some other fun!

I took a TON of pictures of Miss Gwyndolyn today!  I have decided that I am going to make this in a two or even three part thing.  There are too many pictures for one post, I am afraid.  I have a few that are very pretty minus the fact that Gwen is covered in MUD!  She is a big show off too.  Andrew made her do tricks and I took pictures. 🙂

Puppy Got a Roomba

No, this is not us, this is what Roomba thinks the family dog SHOULD do when there is a Roomba present…from my experience, this is not how it goes. That dog OBVIOUSLY wants to get the heck outta dodge but there must be some awfully tasty treats involved keeping it in place while the evil Roomba approaches.

I think I have mentioned it before, but one of the blogs that I follow and really enjoy is Puppy on a Roomba.  Well, we just got a Roomba!  My parents and cousins each have one and basically swear by them (or their similar counterparts).  I’ve wanted one for a long time to help with the massive amounts of vacuuming I always seem to be doing with this little Welsh Beast that lives in my house.  Our Roomba was a Christmas present from my parents and we just now (yesterday) set it up!  It took us awhile since I wanted to clean the house first — I felt that getting behind on 3 days worth of vacuuming could be detrimental to our new little robot!  Then I went home for the weekend and then we just never got around to it until yesterday.

Gwen was NOT happy about this THING living in HER living room.  We charged it up and then set it free for a couple minutes last night at around 9 pm (not my idea, I might add!) and of course Gwyndolyn Rose was not a happy camper…

Sorry the video was so dark, I didn’t think it would turn out like that.  That was what she did to it last night.  She growled and barked a little.  This morning’s reaction has been quite a bit louder and a bit hyper-vigilant which consists of hiding behind or next to the humans and barking and vibrating since when she isn’t barking or breathing she is growling.  I put her in the bedroom and closed the door and she went under the bed and hid quietly.  That lasted until Andrew came back and opened the door so that the Roomba could clean the floor…it chased Gwen out from under the bed!

As I type this now the Roomba is once again back in the bedroom making its rounds and I assume eating as many dust and hairs as possible since I have not vacuumed back here as recently as I should have.  *Hangs head in shame*  It’s battery is getting low too so I wonder if it will even make it back to its little docking station or if I am going to have to carry it back to its “home.”  My parents’ Roomba gets stuck under furniture and will go until it just dies sometimes.  They have a big house and a large, shedding Black Lab.

I looked down at the Roomba that seemed to be stuck in a perpetual circle next to the bed and it had the Dock light on, meaning it was trying to go back to its home, but it was obviously a little lost.  So I stopped it and carried it to the hall and then hit Dock and watched it go find its home.  Gwen of course started barking at it when it came back into “her” living room.  I heard Andrew say “shut up dog or I am going to hold you next to that thing until you quit barking!”  That gave me an idea!  I got out the jar of Bil-Jacks (little soft treats that are great treats for training) and worked Gwen close to that new “thing” living behind the dining room table.  I made her walk forward a couple steps and sit or lay down and then gave her the treat.  We worked closer and closer to the Roomba until she was eating the treats around it and then on top of it!  At least she will go near it when it is off now.  I guess only time will tell if she quits barking at it randomly.

I was going to try to keep this post relatively short but it looks like that may not happen.  After not writing anything for a few days I have the urge to keep writing!  Don’t worry, this will be all about Gwen! 🙂

Yesterday (Sunday) we went to our favorite dog park, Sky Dogs, to make up for having left Gwen in her box for the afternoon so we could go to the range and shoot.  Gwen absolutely loves going to the dog park!  On our way in the gate we saw Romeo, the puppy that Andrew fell in love with and wanted to adopt a couple weeks ago.  Romeo has grown and is still very sweet.  Gwen went up to him to say hi.  Once inside Gwen found some other dogs to play with and Lo and Behold the was another CORGI there!!!! 😀  I had yet to see another Corgi at the dog park!  Her name was Sydney and she was cute.  Gwen’s Beagle friend, Tobias, was there again.  I guess the last time Andrew took Gwen to the park, Tobias and Gwen had a baying/barking match.

At Sky Dogs they have an agility course which you can take your dog through or just play with the different obstacles.  Gwen likes the balance beam thing.  I got a little video of her on it! 🙂

The little Welsh Beast that we share our house with ate $6 cash Saturday night.  The $6 that we were going to use to pay to get into the dog park!  (it costs humans $3 ea. to enter, dogs are free)  The other day she tore up a book that Andrew got for Christmas.  Spiteful little you-know-what.

When I got up this morning, I came out to the living room to take Gwen outside and I found her sleeping in the middle of the floor.  Apparently we forgot to lock her crate door last night.  I don’t think we even closed her door because it was open and behind her water dish, meaning she couldn’t put it there.  I don’t know how we did that.  My guess is that she was in her crate when we turned out the lights and went to bed.  I checked to see if she destroyed anything and it didn’t look like it.  She was a good puppy!  Though she will still be sleeping in her crate, I don’t want to push the limits with the little devil!

Right now on Modern Marvels they are doing Dogs!  Gwen is watching it. 🙂  I haven’t seen a Corgi on it yet.  Every time a wolf howls or someone whistles or a dog barks she looks!  It’s cute since she never pays attention to the TV even when dogs are barking on it!

Mai Twip to da Doggie Pawk (as translated by the Hooman)

Yesterday, the hoomans took me to the doggie park!!!  I’ve never been before.  It is some place called Sky Dogs and they has lots and lots of fun things there but I was a little nervous and scared.  There were so many big doggies and not a lot of short doggies like me! 😦

First we droves in the car and it took longer than when we go to the park with all the doggies on leashes.  Then we got there and I was ready to jump out of the car!  But when we got to the gate I didn’t want to go in.  So they dragged me through the gate and the hoomans had to pay for them to enter but I was free.  I guess that means I don’t have to give up any bones to go play?  So we listened to this guy give instructions to these other new people/doggie and then we went to explore!

We went through this gate into a small thing and then they took off my leash!  I wasn’t so sure about that… so I stayed pretty close to the hoomans.  There was this nice brindle puppy that came to sniff and play and I liked him because he wasn’t too much bigger than me and he played nice.  Then we were playing and some other dogs came over to play and I got pinned and scared and when I got to my feet there was a whole pack of dogs and I started to snarl and show my big teeth and poof up my hackles.  My daddy hooman came to save me!  So then I followed them around and only went about a leash and a half length distance away from them.

We walked around the park and I went and sat with some other hoomans (the other new ones) and their doggie went and said hi to my hoomans.  Mommy  hooman says he was a pit bull.  He looked tough but he was really nice.  So then we explored and I sniffed some other doggies but didn’t really play with them.

There was this big hole full of water and the other doggies were splashing in it but I didn’t really know if I should go in it or not.  So I walked in the mud and mommy hooman wasn’t very happy about that but daddy hooman thought it was funny.  He even picked me up and put me in the icky water!!! I didn’t stay in too long cause the water was up to my belly and I saw other big doggies who were swimming.

Then we went and played on the agility things.  The hoomans want me to do agility some day.  I think it might be fun, just as long as I don’t have to climb those big thingies!  Mommy hooman put the poles down low in little x-shapes for me to jump over.  I figured out how to go around the jumpies!  My mommy hooman does these jumpy thingies with horses, whatever those things are.

I didn’t want to chase the ball, but I did find a small doggie to run around with for a few minutes.  He was a white/merle dachshund and just a little smaller than me.  We played nice.  But then this Frenchie bulldog came in and was playing too rough and I tried to get away and it chased me and so I turned and snapped at it with my big teeth showing.  I didn’t want to play rough anymore.  The hoomans and I went back through the gate and put on my leash and we went home.

I had to ride in the “back seat” of the truck.  I’ve never had to ride back there before!  I had to sit on the floor cause I was stinky.  I went to sleep but when we were close to home I tried to get up front by sticking my head on the center console and looking at my hoomans with sad eyes.

Mommy hooman says I need to practice playing nice with other doggies.  We haven’t been to a puppy play time recently because I got my innards taken out and then the hoomans hadn’t been to petco to see if there were any to sign up for.  The hoomans really need to make more friends with other doggies!  They are lame hoomans, can I get new ones, please??  So they went to petco later that day and signed me up for Puppy II classes.  I start again this week! Yays!  I don’t know what I’m going to learn, I am already a smart doggie.  I think they hoomans want me to learn how to be a more of a good girl.  I want to start doing classes with lots of doggies but right now we is just doing classes of one doggie at a time.  They brought me home a couple halloween toys that were “on clearance” whatever that means.  They’re fun toys!

I was exhausted yesterday!  This was how the hoomans found me….
